About us

The Czech Stroke Society - more precisely the Cerebrovascular section of the Czech Neurological Society of the Czech Medical Association JEP - was established in 1995 - the year when the groundbreaking data on the benefits of intravenous thrombolysis for patients with stroke were published. We are a section of the Czech Neurological Society with the largest membership base and a very lively educational, organizational and social life.

Goals and activities

  1. Organization of congresses and education of cerberovascular neurologists
     

  2. Organization of a functional network of accredited stroke centers in cooperation with state administration bodies, health insurance companies and other professional companies
     

  3. Collection of data on the quality of stroke care (RES-Q care quality register)
     

  4. Research and support of research cooperation
     

  5. Specialized education
     

  6. International cooperation within ESO
     

  7. Education of the general professional public
     

  8. Media campaigns raising the awareness of the lay public about the stroke symptoms and treatment (Time is the brain, HOBIT project)
     

  9. Communication with state administration bodies, payers and cooperating professional societies
